Description
Originating in Lombardy, Italy in the early 1800s. This variety has been grown in the UK since 1826. The freestone fruit is medium large for a damson, with a purplish-black skin with a thick bloom, and finely-flavoured. It is suited to both culinary as well as dessert purposes when fully ripe.
