Description

Almost full yellow, slightly flushed and red striped. Grows well in the North and gives a good performance on nearly all types of soil except that canker can develop on the poor soils. Remember too, that it is more subject to scab in areas of high rainfall but is very juicy and has a pleasant, crisp, sweet flavour. Probably the best September dessert apple, very prolific. The flowers are fairly resistant to frost damage. A good pollinator. Raised in Edinburgh and first recorded in 1893.
