Miscanthus giganteus is a tall and vigorous, clump-forming, deciduous, perennial grass that has strong upright stems with stiff, erect, linear, mid-green leaves to about 1.5m. In late summer and early autumn, very tall flower stems are produced with conical panicles of silky-hairy, pink flower spikelets that turn silver with age.
