Description

Regarded as perhaps the best in cultivation, the pear-shaped fruits are yellow-brown in colour with some russeting, and approx. 2.5cm in diameter. They ripen in mid October when they are still hard fleshed, but become soft after one to two weeks storage under warm, dry conditions. Then they are ready to eat and have taste and texture of spiced applesauce. Use it first of all in preserves. The tree is a little less vigorous than others making it the best choice where space is restricted.
