Description

The fastest and tallest growing of the balsam poplars. Buds are large, sticky and strongly balsam-scented as they unfold. The leaves are dark green on top with much paler undersides that give the tree a shimmering look when the wind catches it. Turns to an attractive yellow in the autumn. This is best suited to windbreaks or screening.
