Rheum palmatum

Description

'Chinese' rhubarb is typically grown for its striking foliage, where the leaves can be up to 90cms across on stems up to 1.5m tall - but ideal if you don't want something as large as 'Gunnera'!. Does best in moist but well-drained soils in part shade, and bears tall spikes of cream flowers over 2m or more.
