Classic double blooms of ivory-cream, opening from apricot-yellow buds, with a brush of golden stamens. Good disease resistance. Raised by Barbier Frères & Compagnie (France) 1900 from a cross between Rosa wichurana x Shirley Hibberd.An old favourite, ideal for gracing a fence, pergola or old apple tree, the plant is healthy and vigorous and accommodates unpromising situations. The glossy dark-green foliage is near evergreen, but can be cut down in severe frosts.RHS AGM in 1993
