Description
A floriferous light crimson-red to begin, the flowers age gracefully to a more purple hue - especially in hot weather. Excellent disease resistance. Raised by Jean Laffay (France) 1862.Has a graceful shrub habit, with unusual resinous 'mossy' looking stalks, is tolerant of poor soils, and will succeed on a north wall. Will require some staking due to its rather lax, arching growth. RHS AGM 2012
