Sambucus nigra 'Thundercloud'

Description

A spectacular new cultivar - the leaves emerge a very dark purple, changing to purple-green in summer and contrast beautifully with the flat sprays of pinky-cream flowers in late spring. A vigorous shrub, this can reach 5m (15ft) if left unpruned, but responds very well to being cut back hard in early spring. Any soil, sun or partial shade.
