Stachyurus praecox

Description

An uncommon yet delightful early flowering shrub. In late winter and early spring long racemes of pale yellow bells hang down from the bare branches. These are followed by the bright reddish-brown new shoots. Ideal in the shrub border or can be grown against a wall. Fully hardy but protect from extremely cold winds. Height and spread 2m (6ft).
