Description

A large, vigorous tree of rounded habit. Leaves are large and heart-shaped. Green above and below covered with a dense down. It flowers earlier than most of the other species and so is a great source of pollen for bees. It has a tall, stately habit lending dignity to parks and estates up and down the country. Native to South Yorkshire and the Wye Valley.
