Description
Traditional 19th century full-bodied bittersweet cider variety from the Exe Valley, Devon, it has been a mainstay in commercial orchards for many years. Prolific crops of small strikingly deep red conical fruit, produce a sweet juice with a high level of tannin and a full-bodied medium-dry cider. Th blossom is frost resistant, and the trees make a pretty picture when groaning with apples, but this variety can suffer from scab in areas of high rainfall. This self-sterile Apple is believed to have originated from Devon, UK in 1870
