Hydrangea aspera sargentiana

Description

A lovely species with rich velvet green leaves which are densely covered with grey hairs. The flat flower heads which appear in July and August are approx. 15cm (6") across, made up of pale purple fertile flowers and small white-sup ray-flowers Needs a shady site, and rich moist soil - lovely underplanted with ferns and hostas. Eventual height 3m (9ft).
