Description
One of the first pears to ripen each season, producing good crops of medium-sized yellow-green fruit flushed with red. The flesh is pale yellow and very juicy sugary and with plenty of lemony acidity. The trees growth is moderate with a slightly drooping nature. Raised in Massachusetts, USA in 1860 by Thaddeus Clapp. Timing picking is crucial as the fruit is inclined to go sleepy (rot) from the core. For help with choosing the correct rootstock for your needs, please click here A Guide to Rootstocks
