Description
Very old variety from Denmark, possibly the viallage of Skensved and first described in 1858 by J A Bentzien in 'The Danish Garden Journal'. Medium-szied fruit, yellowy green with the occasional spot of pink blush. Buttery, melting flesh, firm but with no hint of grittiness. Delightful honeyed flavour, full of juice, an absolute delight to eat straight off the tree (although will keep for up to a month). A wonderful early pear that deserves to be better known in the UK.For help with choosing the correct rootstock for your needs, please click here A Guide to Rootstocks
