Raised in 1841 by John Williams at Pitmaston, Worcestershire. Huge fruit with a yellow-white juicy melting flesh and an excellent flavour. Nurseryman George Bunyard regarded it as the best and finest market pear in 1899. Vigorous growth, good autumn foliage colour.
