Raised in Belgium in the early nineteenth century and introduced into England in 1818. A great late pear which sets good crops of small, yellow-green fruit with a sweet juicy flavour. Compact growth so recommended for the smaller garden. Fruit tend to be small, so a good thinning in July will help improve fruit size.
