What are autumn bulbs?
The term autumn bulbs describes bulbs and other underground storage organs that are planted during autumn, rather than necessarily flowering during autumn.
Many of these bulbs remain underground through winter before emerging when conditions become favourable in late winter or spring. Planting them in autumn gives them time to establish roots before winter and prepares them for flowering the following year.
